Study of Teaching Methodology in Elasticity and Plasticity

The present paper is about the teaching methodology for elasticity and plasticity. First, the similarity and difference between the two subjects were discussed and the core contents of the two courses were proposed. The special features of the two subjects in text books were presented and the ways of selecting examples and problems were discussed. Finally, the current development in this course and the connection between each subject and engineering were recommended and the procedure on how to transfer a research result into teaching materials was discussed.
