Abstract
A new method combining the car aerodynamics and system dynamics was explored for the research about the influence of crosswinds on the container truck handling stability. A numerical simulation was adoped to get the variation regularity of aerodynamic force and moment of the container truck in common speed and limit speed around 3 to 7 level crosswinds. And then the variation regularity was added to the dynamic model in Adams/car through Step functions to analyze the driving safety. The simulation results show that the container truck speed should be less than 80 km/h when the crosswinds at the 7 level, the speed should be less than 100 km/h when the crosswinds at the 6 level to ensure its traffic safety. The results also provide a reference for the container truck driving safety under crosswinds, as well as a new attempt and basis to the research methods and processes of the vehicle driving stability.
