Numerical Simulation Study on Blasting Demolition for Hyperbolic Cooling Tower

  • Three FEA models of the demolition were established for 95 meters high reinforced concrete hyperbolic cooling tower with differernt blasting incision angles to analysis collapse mechanism by LS-DYNA. The result shows that the failure pattern is well collapsed damage when the angle is normal angle (234°), the failure pattern is buckling instability when the angle(210°) is smaller than normal angle,it is easy to produce the recoil when the angle(250°) is larger than normal angle. Two case above are not conductive to control collapse.
