Study on Numerical Simulation of Explosive Damage During Artillery Launch

  • To investigate damage response of the charge in the projectile during artillery launch, the approach to node tie-breaking was used to simulate charge damage of TNT and PBX9501 exploisves and the charge damage in the projectile at differnet velocities was calculated. The critical launch velocities of projectile for TNT and PBX9501 were obtained, and the results from numerical simulation were good agreement with the test results. The results indicate that the approach to node tie-breaking is available for simulating damage in the projectile during artillery launch.
