Analysis on Crash Risk Perception for Electric Bike Riders

  • The influencing factors and the relationships among them were investigated for the crash risk perception of e-bike riders under different risk situations. An online questionnaire survey was conducted for data collection. Ordered logistic regression (OLR) and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to analyze the crash risk perception of e-bike riders. The results indicate that the crash risk perception is closely related to the factors such as driving skills, travel frequency, age and risk propensity. An e-bike rider has higher perceived risk when she/he has a conflict with a car compared with a cyclist. And the rider's risk perception declines with an individual riding error.
