Experimental Study on the Driving Behavior of Nightime Long-Journey Coach at Freeway Tunnel Group’s Entrance and Exit

  • The speed and throttle position stroke variation characteristics of nighttime long-journey coach at freeway tunnel group's entrance and exit is analyzed. The distribution feature of speed and throttle position stroke is obtained via real-time data sampling experimental system. The expectation highest speed at tunnel's entrance is 91.4~94.1 km·h-1. The expectation highest speed at tunnel's exit is 96.2~99.2 km·h-1. The hidden danger-driving proportion is 16.9% when difference speed between tunnel's entrance and exit is more than 20 km·h-1, and hidden danger-driving proportion reaches to 14.0% when the higher difference speed is caused by acceleration driving behavior. The results show that the speed coordination at uphill tunnel is better than at downhill; the extent of rate of throttle position stroke change at inner tunnel is less than outer tunnel.
