Optimal Guidance Law Considering Dynamics of Autopilot for Intercepting Weaving Targets

  • To deal with the unfavorable effects of target weaving maneuver and dynamics of autopilot on guidance precision, a new optimal guidance law that accounts for the accurate autopilot for homing missiles to intercept the weaving targets has been numerically developed based on the planar missile-target interception model. Kalman filter was designed as a viable approach to engage the weave maneuvering targets. The implementation of the presented guidance strategy has been analyzed. Simulation results confirm the good capability of tracking the weaving targets. It is demonstrated by Monte Carlo simulation technique that the proposed algorithm yields superior performance to existing guidance laws against the weaving targets and it is capable of decreasing the bad effects.
