Dynamic Response of Sandwich Plates of Maglev Train Under Hail Impact

Abstract
To investigate the sandwich plate anti-impact properties of high-speed maglev train, the finite element model of the sandwich plates of maglev train and particle model of hail's smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH) were established. The dynamic response and damage mode of composite structure of maglev train under hail impact was simulated numerically using nonlinear dynamic finite element analysis software LS-DYNA. The strain, the stress and the destroy mode of the sandwich plates were given under different impact velocities. The results show that the SPH method to simulate the hail impact is rational and accurate.
