Research and Application on the Precise Split Algorithm of Expressway Tolls

Using video-based plate recognition data, the problem about reasonable charging and effective split of tolls was discussed in this paper. Based on the characteristics of highway toll system and vehicles route paths, a split algorithm was proposed, under the conditions that the vehicle route was not ambiguous, the route was ambiguous but could be identified by plate recognition data and the route was ambiguous even could not be identified. The data of highway toll from Hebei, China was used to test the split algorithm and verify the effectiveness of the algorithm. The results indicate that the precise split+historical ratio model can split the path tolls effectively.
