Experimental Study on the Minimum Ignition Energy of Composite Solid Propellant Dust

  • To investigate the ignition mechanism of composite solid propellant under high pressure waterjet from a perspective of dust explosion, Hartman bomb experimental system was used to test the minimum ignition energy of typical composite solid propellant dust. The effects of component, temperature and humidity on the minimum ignition energy were analyzed. The results show that, the minimum ignition energy of the dust system rises with the increase of humidity; the minimum ignition energy decreases with the temperature rising. The effect of Ferrocene content on minimum ignition energy is the most significant.
