Assessment of Aircraft Multiple-Hit Vulnerability Under Components Overlapping and Quadratic Effect

  • Since aircraft critical components overlapping and quadratic effect is common in actual battle, a method of aircraft multiple-hit vulnerability assessment under components overlapping and quadratic effect is proposed in this research. First, based on the properties of non-redundant and redundant components, quadratic effect calculation method of non-redundant and redundant components in non-components overlapping and components overlapping area was presented and the generalized critical components and existing states of the aircraft were deduced. Then, the assessment model of aircraft multiple-hit vulnerability was established using Markov-chain approach. Finally, several numerical examples were given. Simulation results show that quadratic effect would increase the aircraft vulnerability. The degree of damaging effect is related to the kill probability of quadratic effect, presented area and the features of redundant and overlapping of the critical components.
