Modeling and Control Strategy of Vehicle Electric Power Steering

Abstract
Electric power steering(EPS) is a complicated electro-mechanical system. Control strategy plays a decisive role in the process of assistance. Based on the kinetics analysis, mathematics model and Simulink based simulation model of electric power steering were established. Low-pass filter was used to reduce the tracking error for determined structure of the control system. Further, close-loop control was realized by using steering torque and motor current as feedback signals respectively. Simulation and experiment show that the proposed control strategy could reduce tracking error effectively, and the dynamic response of the system is good.
