Preparation of Tin-Containing Superhydrophobic Surface on Zinc Substrate

  • To meet the demands of extensive application of metal superhydrophobic surface, the superhydrophobic surface was prepared by the way that the zinc substrate was immersed perpendicularly into stannous chloride (SnCl2) acetone solution and followed hydrophobization by n-octadecanethiol acetone solution. The prepared samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that the surface superhydrophobicity is composed of micro-nano binary structures and the prepared surface has a high water contact angle (CA) of 158° and a small sliding angle (SA) of less than 5°.
