Abstract
For predict the effect of the local unsymmetrical exploding loading on aerocraft, the dynamic response of a free-free beam subjected to a local impulsive loading at one end was examined with the assumption of beam material to be rigid and perfectly plastic. The deformation mechanisms of beam under different distributed loading length were given. The fracture possibility of the space shuttle under a local triangularly distributed impulsive loading was also discussed. It is concluded that it is more difficult to break up aerocraft under local impulsive loading with triangular distribution at one end.
