Study into Quasi-Static Compressive Properties of W-Cu Alloy

  • The quasi-static compressive properties and the deformation characteristics of W-Cu20 alloy were investigated with the WDW-E100D testing machine, the S-4800 scanning electronic microscope and X-ray diffraction analysis. The results show that the annealing treatment of W-Cu20 can eliminate the internal stress generated when the alloy was prepared, improve the plastic deformation capacity and reduce quasi-static compressive strength. W-Cu20 alloy quasi-static compress generates the deformation bands on the shear surface. The tungsten phase morphology changes greatly from the sphericity into strips along the shear surface direction. The microstructure has the most significant deformation bands after the alloy is annealed at 800℃.
