Abstract
Infrared-to-visible up-conversion nanoparticles Y<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<∶Yb<sup<3+</sup<, Er<sup<3+</sup< were synthesized by hydrothermal method utilizing reagents of Y<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<, Yb<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub< and Er<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<. The synthesized crystal structure and components were analyzed using X-ray diffraction apparatus. The results show that the nanocrystal belongs to cubic system. The nanocrystals are spherical particles with an average diameter of 20nm, with the help of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) technology. The up-conversion fluorescence with green and red colors is obtained under 980nm laser excitation and the intensity of luminescence would be changed with the doping ratio of Yb and Er elements.
