Hydrothermal Synthesis of Y<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<∶Yb<sup<3+</sup<, Er<sup<3+</sup< Up-Conversion Material and Luminescent Properties

  • Infrared-to-visible up-conversion nanoparticles Y<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<∶Yb<sup<3+</sup<, Er<sup<3+</sup< were synthesized by hydrothermal method utilizing reagents of Y<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<, Yb<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub< and Er<sub<2</sub<O<sub<3</sub<. The synthesized crystal structure and components were analyzed using X-ray diffraction apparatus. The results show that the nanocrystal belongs to cubic system. The nanocrystals are spherical particles with an average diameter of 20nm, with the help of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) technology. The up-conversion fluorescence with green and red colors is obtained under 980nm laser excitation and the intensity of luminescence would be changed with the doping ratio of Yb and Er elements.
