A set of complete and accurate design theory and method is put forward for the micro hob of which the modulus is less than 0.1 mm. Combining the regular method and experience of hob design, this paper gives the preliminary study of design theory and method using mechanics knowledge and finite element analysis. As a result, the design method proposed in this paper is proved the be correct by particular example.
