New Wireless Sensor Network for Large-Scale Equipment Monitoring

Aiming at the monitoring status of large-scale equipment in industrial environment, the architecture and node configuration of wireless sensor networks are optimized. The nodes are classified into three types with different power dissipation and functionality in order to prolong the survival time of the whole network. A new type of wireless sensor network with super-cluster head cooperative architecture is proposed based on analyzing the characteristics of wireless channel around the large-scale equipment. Simulation results show that the connectivity and survival time of the new network are superior to the traditional wireless sensor networks.
