Study of Rolling Control for a Controllable-Rolling Actuator System

Abstract
In order to deal with the application of electric servo on roll-missile, a kind of controllable-rolling actuator is proposed, through the analysis of advantages of electromechanical actuator system over pneumatic actuator system and the application limits on the control of spinning missile. The operational principle of the controllable-rolling actuator is discussed. And the mathematic model of the roll control system with this actuator is established by kinematic and dynamic methods. The roll rate of the missile body, outer feedback loop of the actuator roll angle and inner feedback loop of the actuator roll rate are introduced in the model. The control of this kind of spinning missile is complicated, and the mathematical model is the foundation of the designing of the rolling controller and the control system.
