Experiment Research of Specimen Canister in Explosive Welding Sealing Craft

Aimed at explosive welding sealing craft of specimen canister for outer space exploration mission, cylindrical canister explosive welding is simplified to plates explosive welding research, several kinds of sealing craft scenarios with different fly plates and base plates configurations were designed and made. Explosive welding experiments were implemented. Metallograph analysis and intensity stretching tests were performed on welding composites to compare welding quality. According to the results, the optimum craft scenario was identified. Research results showed that ribbon explosive can create a narrow predictable bond area, and the craft scenario identified can produce absolute hermetic seal.
