Half-Bridge Converter with Double Current Sources in Intermediate Frequency Resonant Power Supply

  • A half-bridge thyristor inverter with double current sources suitable for high-power induction heating and melting applications in the low and medium frequency range is designed. The double current sources inverter circuit and the work principle of the inverter are introduced. Based on the differential equations, mathematical analysis of the full procedure of the inverter from transient to steady state has been done. Mathematical analysis and experiment results proved that the resonant inverter has abnormal characteristics: the higher resonance circuit quality factor, the higher output power.
