Geostationary Orbital Object Surveillance Based on Spaceborne Radar Detection

  • With a view to the requirement of geostationary orbital objects surveillance, the RCS characteristic of geostationary orbital targets is analyzed. Based on the work, the orbital altitude and revisiting period of space-based radar are designed in detail, so are the antennas form and size. The relationship between imaging resolutions of spaceborne ISAR and system parameters is discussed. Furthermore, the integration time according to appointed cross range resolution is proposed on the direct orbit or retrograde orbit conditions. The research work indicates that it is feasible to surveil geostationary orbital objects nearby relatively using spaceborne wideband radar.
