Regenerative Braking Control Strategy for Electric Vehicle

  • New regenerative braking control strategy should be established to recycle braking energy as much as possible as a prerequisite of brake performance. Together with the analysis of the vehicle brake dynamics and related braking regulations, and output characteristic of motor,the model of moter was established.A new regenerative braking control strategy of distribution between regenerative braking force and frictional braking force in electric vehicles was proposed, and simulation carried out with Matlab/Advisor. Compared with the usual scale braking control strategy, the proposed strategy enables to take advantage of motor brake torque, and a remarkable motor regenerative energy improvement can be achieved. The results also indicated that the control strategy could handle with the braking demand well.
