Abstract
To solve the problem of inefficiency of DCPC(distributed cycle pre-configuration) in optical mesh network due to linear configuration, a flooding based DCPC is developed by extending techniques in the ASON control plane, which aims to shorten the configuration time. Distributed cooperation between on-cycle nodes can rapidly obtain information about network connectivity and resource distribution. The results showed that F-DCPC takes great advantages in the heavy loaded mesh optical network, and automatic configurations of the static and dynamic P-cycle can be implemented by utilizing ASON controlling techniques. Quantitative analysis of extra overhead involved by F-DCPC is presented by simulation and comparison under several P-cycle enumeration algorithms.
