ISAR Imaging Simulation Based on Time-Frequency Transform for Maneuvering Targets

  • Two key problems for inverse synthetie aperture radar(ISAR) imaging simulation of maneuvering targets are the high accurate simulation of raw signal and high resolution imaging processing. Instead of the traditional point-target model for raw signal simulation, full-wave numerical method is used to compute the scattering field of maneuvering targets under instantaneous position and attitude. Following a sequence of time delay, the raw signal is obtained by overlapping the scattering field on discrete time. According to resolution deterioration due to target maneuvering, ISAR imaging based on time-frequency transform is performed. Feasibility of this simulation approach is validated by simulation results presented.
