Automatic Modeling of a Curved Object from Two Views

  • A method of automatic curved object reconstruction from two views is proposed.Hausdorff distance based feature matching technique is used for matching the curved objects in the frontal and lateral views. So the approximate shape and location information of the desired objects can be automatically obtained.Objects in the two views can be automatically segmented out by the shape priors based image segmentation algorithm. As a result, curved surface reconstruction and texture extraction can be automatically processed using the silhouettes in the two views.Effectiveness of this method is shown by reconstructing real curved objects.
