Experimental Study and Numerical Simulation on the Mechanical Behavior of Tungsten Alloys

  • The tensile tests have been conducted to investigate the mechanical behavior of tungsten alloys with three kinds of grain sizes 1~3 μm,10~15 μm and 30~40 μm.The stress-strain curves and the quasi-static parameters under different loading velocities were obtained.Based on the experimental results, the finite element program ANSYS was adopted to build the numerical model of the tungsten alloys with the microstructure characteristics.Dozens of cases were performed to analyze the effect of W content, grain shape, and grain size on the mechanical behavior of the tungsten alloys under quasi-static tension load. The stress-strain curves were given and the relation between the mechanical characteristics of the tungsten alloys and the micro-parameters of the tungsten alloys was explored.
