Semantic-Based Speech Synthesis——Survey and Perspective on the Speech Synthesis Technology

Overviews the state-of-the-art of speech synthesis technology.Problems such as speech quality,prosody prediction and expressiveness existing in current systems were analyzed.It is proposed to integrate semantic-analysis into speech synthesis systems.Thus,the goal of the next generation of systems ought to be to convey the semantic information perfectly and vividly through synthesized speech.The fundamental principles methodologies,and basic resources relevant to achieve the goals are discussed.
