Study of Dissymmetry Effect on Image Seeking Adopting Guided Search

  • For an image guided missile, adopting guided search can increase the probability of target entering the instantaneous field of view of the seeker, but it may cause dissymmetry of the monitor image under some conditions. It has been found that two factors can cause this dissymmetry, viz.the angular velocity of the line of sight and the lead speed of the missile. With the help of simulation, monitor image dissymmetry effect has been studied when the missile attacks moving targets of different speeds.A dissymmetry parameter and the extremum search speed are used to evaluate the dissymmetry.Simulation results show the dissymmetry is more serious when the speed of moving targets is larger under the same initial conditions. The study provides more basis to the design of midcause guidance law and seeker search pattern.
