A New Kalman Filter Design for Strapdown Homing Guidance System

Abstract
A new Kalman filter in body coordinates is presented to estimate the relative movement variables between the missile and target for a strapdown homing guidance system.By using the Kalman filter in the body coordinates,loss of information due to the transformation between body and inertial coordinates is avoided.Simulation results showed that the Kalman filter designed for the strapdown homing guidance system satisfy the performance index for guided ammunition system.
