Finite Element Analysis and Test Research on Thermal Properties of Rubber and Cast Polyurethane Road Wheel Models

Abstract
With the software ANSYS, finite element structural models of rubber and cast polyurethane road wheel models are established. After calculating heat generation ratio of the nodes, the results are used as the thermal loads on the finite element models of temperature field established with ANSYS as well. From the results of finite element analysis and test research, thermal characteristics of rubber and cast polyurethane can be contrasted. From the data obtained in the test, the models established with ANSYS are proved reasonable. As a conclusion, under the same test condition rubber will become much hotter than cast polyurethane.
