Design of Tourism Information System Based on Semantic Web

A tourism information system based on Semantic Web has been implemented. An ontology for the tourism domain is built up with UML. A new methodology of information search is proposed which combines traditional search engine technology with the semantic Web. An algorithm for search of semantic Web information is designed and tested with the system. Optimization for query-answering with description-logic knowledge base is implemented. The system shows promising potentials of semantic Web in business applications.
