Preparation and Properties of Complex Smoke Suppressor Based on Zeolite

Abstract
With an aiminresolving the problem smoking of polymers on burning, a complex smoke suppressor consisting of ammonium molybdate and molybdic oxide has been prepared, using zeolite as the carrier. Test results indicated that the effect of smoke suppressor was remarkable through the cone calorimetry test. The results of mechanial properties test indicated that the complex smoke suppressor possesses good compatibility with polymers. Its outstanding properties come from the fact that the molybdic compound has been dispersed completely in the carrier, making the complex smoke suppressor in touch with the polymer sufficiently and improves the reactivity of molybdic compound. So it can lead to the best use of the molybdic compound in smoke suppressor. At the same time, complex smoke suppressor has its better properties and cost effective results resulting from the coordinated effect of the carrier.
