Anti-Inflammatory, Analgesia and Bacteriostatic Effects of Shuyixin

  • The effects of Shuyixin as to anti-inflammation, analgesia and bacteriostasis were examined. Ear edema in mice was used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect, and mouse writhing assay tested for analgesic test. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and Minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were assayed by mean of continuous tube dilution. The results showed that Shuyixin can significantly inhibit the xylene-induced ear edema and writhing action induced by acetic acid, and has significant inhibitory effect on staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli and proteus. Shuyixin is a promising new herbal medicine for anti-inflammation, analgesia and bacteriostasis.
