Electronic Zoom Pattern in Zoom Lenses

Abstract
A new method of Gaussian optics computation for zoom lenses applying electronic zoom patterns is presented. The method takes care of both the automatic adjustment of focal point of arbitrary object distance with the relevant continuous zooming pattern, and the independent zooming pattern, where the cam lines are given by using transcendental equations and cubic spline interpolation. It can accomplish the computation of Gaussian optics parameters for arbitrary zoom patterns of electronic and mechanical zoom design.
