A Doppler Signal Compression Algorithm for Miss Distance Measurements

Abstract
A real time Doppler signal compression algorithm for the miss distance measurement is studied. A STFT based compression algorithm in frequency domain is proposed in light of the characteristics of the Doppler signal of object in uniform rectilinear motion. The miss distance measurement is also discussed by the way of high resolution spectral estimation and nonlinear least square fitting from the reconstructed signals.
