Data Compression Technique in Vehicle Data Acquisition Systems

  • Network vehicle data acquisition systems require strict limitations on real-time data compression. Basic theory and method about data compression are studied. A kind of series data compression system is presented that is made up of the predictive coding and the dictionary coding method, accomplished with C++ Builder. Binary tree is used to store data in LZSS algorithm, which shortens the running time. A simple algorithm is used in the predictive coding, which reduces the computer load. The system has been verified through simulation by monitoring data in the processing of vehicle automatic shifts. Results of simulation proved that data compression of this system is effective, and thus the feasibility of the system.
