Degraded States Vulnerability Methodology and Its Implementation

  • Based on the overall framework of degraded states vulnerability methodology (DSVM), key procedures involving DSVM implementation are discussed, such as target kill categories and definition of degraded states (DS), fault tree construction corresponding to each DS definition and its Boolean mathematical logical operations, component damage state vector simulation by means of Monte Carlo method, and the probability distribution statistical analysis of DS, etc. Based on DSVM, vulnerability simulation at the component level can be carried out, and the probability distribution of combination DS can be obtained for a given target threat (eg.the warhead) interaction taken as the initial condition. This will enhance greatly the resolution of vulnerability simulation and its practicability.
