The Linear Relation of Motion and the Degrees of Freedom of Plane MechanismsKONG Ling-jia, ZHANG Chun-lin, RONG Hui, CHEN Ya-qin,

  • Based on discussions for independent motions and partial degrees of freedom in plane mechanisms, the concept of the degree of freedom of motion linear relation is proposed through the motion linear relation analysis for links in plane motions. The method of calculating the degree of freedom for plane mechanisms including gears in plane motion is presented. Some examples are given to vertify the correctness and the practicality of the method. Theoretic basis is also founded for the design of redundant constraints in gear trains.
