Effect of the Damping of Suspension System on the Riding Comfort of a Tracked Vehicle

With the special structural characteristics of the riding device of a tracked vehicle taken into consideration, computer simulation is performed using the software DADS to analyse the effect of damping of suspension system on the riding comfort of the tracked vehicle. A new concept of best damping ratio is put forward based on the simulation results. The method presented in this paper can provide a basis for damping control in semi active suspension systems.
