Characteristics of Inductive Heating Applied to Thermal Fatigue Test-Bed for Heated Engine Parts

  • Characteristics of inductive heating applied to thermal fatigue test bed for heated engine parts is calculated and analyzed. The inductive heat source can thus be simplified as that of a thermal surface current and a model for the instantaneous temperature of heated parts thereby established. By measuring the temperature of cast cylinder head directly and other interrelated data, the thermal current density of inductive heating and the maximum normal instantaneous temperature gradient of the test bed can be forecasted. The result shows that the test bed can simulate the actual temperature field on the cast parts' surface if the heating power rating is correctly chosen.
