The Uniformity of Lightness Scale in L*a*b* Color Space for Color-Difference Evaluation

The printed color samples and CRT simulated color samples were assessed using ratio method to investigate the uniformity of the lightness scale in L *a *b * color space used for color difference evaluation. Lightness dependence was not found in L *a *b * color space. It is reasonable that weighting function for lightness difference in CIE94 color difference model was proposed to be 1.
