Frequency/Phase Estimation of Signal Via Rotational Invariance Techniques

  • Aim To discuss methods of estimating frequency and phase of arrey signal. Methods Suppose an array composed of three antennas received echo consisting of several harmonic components. Data sequence samples of echo with different radios of signal to noise were produced by computer simulation. Using ESPRIT method(estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques), the frequencies of the harmonic waves and their phase differences could be calculated. So the combined estimation of the signals' frequencies and phase differences was established. Results The computer simulation showed when S/N >10 dB, standard deviations of frequency and phase estimations are minimal and tend to zero. Conclusion ESPRIT can be used to estimate doppler frequency and phase of radar signal, and on the basis of these values can get moving parameters and moving locus.
