Stability of Sandwich Curved Plate Subjected to Uniform Axial Compression

  • Aim To investigate bucking behavior of a simply supported sandwich curved plate subjected to uniformly distributed axial compression, whose surface layers may have unequal thickness and different materials. Methods Generalized variation principle and Bubnov -Galerkin method were used. Results and Conclusion Critical load for sandwich curved plate was derived . For any sandwich curved plate , if its geometric dimensions, Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of every layer are known , the critical load may be obtained.
