Compaction Waves in a Porous Bed of High Energy Propellant

Abstract
Two-phase flow equations are studied and a compaction wave model estab-lished. The model is used to analyze steady compaction waves in a porous bed of high-energy solid propellant.The parameters of compaction zone are obtained from the model. The structure of the compaction wave is also studied. It is shown that there exist a shock preceding the compaction wave for supersonic compaction waves, but no lead-ing shock exists for subsonic compaction waves.
