Mechanical Properties of Polysulfone and Thermotropic Liquid Crystalline Polymer Composites

  • Mechanical properties of polysulfone and four thermotropic liquid Crystalline polymer blends are studied. It is found that the easier the liquid Crystalline polymer forms the fibre structure, the higher its reinforcing effect. The compatibility of polysulfone and these liquid Crystalline polymers is relatively low, but the addition of some additives can improve the system's mechanical properties rather markedly.
