Abstract
The present study makes use of a moving detonator stab tester tosimulate cases of dynamic initiation. Feasibilities of application of optical andacoustic detection circuits in function time testing is studied and such circuits arecarefully designed. The dynamic function time of three typical detonators havebeen tested with the optical detection circuit and then compared with their staticfunction time. Results obtained from experiments show that: for instantaneouslyinitiated detonators, when the dynamic impact speed is increased by 3-4 times, the function time will be reduced by 50%-80%. And with the same speed, thelarger the mass of stab pin, the shorter will be the function time.
