Interior Ballistic Parameters of Submunition Dispensers

Structural principles of a submunition dispenser are analysed. Basedon the principle of aerodynamics, an analysis is given for the process ofejection of a submunition warhead equipped with star-shaped frame. In theanalysis the quasi-two-phase flow consisting of the combustion gas from thegunpowder and the gunpowder pellets in their process of combustion are takeninto account. The p-t curve and the ejection velocities of the submunition canbe derived.
