Experimental Study on the Local Stress-Strain Method

The local stress - strain method for fatigue life prediction and its different theories are briefly introduced. The cycle stress - strain curve and strain-life curve for the steel 40CrNiMoA were experimentally obtained, and the fatigue tests of notched specimens under random loads carried out. The fatigue lives of notched specimens are predicted applying different theories, and compared with the test results.
