Rotation - Invariant Pattern Recognition by Multiple Circular Harmonic Components

  • A method using more than one circular harmonic components of the target pattern and encoding these components in the spatial domain is presented. With more information in the filter, the recognition accuracy and the flexibility are increased , and based on position encoding , several targets can be detected simultaneously without sacrificing rotation invariance. Both optical experiments and simulation computing have shown the consistency with the theoretical analysis.
